1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit the site, allowing your browser to be recognized on subsequent visits.
2. Cookies used on this site
| Cookie / tracker | Purpose | Issuer | Duration | Consent required |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Matomo (_pk_id, _pk_ses) | Audience measurement (traffic statistics), under consent exemption (see §3) | Self-hosted Matomo, analytics.courchevel-edelweiss.com | 13 months maximum (visit), 25 months (aggregated reports) | No — exempt under conditions |
| Thaïs booking engine session cookie | Strictly necessary for the booking process | Thaïs Hotel Software | Session duration | No — exempt (strictly technical purpose) |
3. Why there is no consent banner for audience measurement
Our audience measurement tool, Matomo, is self-hosted (no third party has access to the data) and configured to meet the conditions of the CNIL consent exemption:
- anonymized IP addresses (last two bytes truncated);
- no cross-domain tracking, no third-party cookies — a single domain, a single site;
- no User ID measurement;
- no e-commerce measurement;
- heatmaps and session recordings disabled;
- no personal data collected in URLs, page titles, or custom dimensions;
- capped retention periods (13 months for visit data, 25 months for aggregated reports);
- export of individual visit data disabled.
These safeguards allow us to measure site traffic without collecting prior consent, in accordance with the official CNIL × Matomo guide. You remain free to opt out (§4).
4. Opting out of audience measurement
You may at any time refuse to be counted in our traffic statistics, without this affecting your browsing on the site: tick the box provided for this purpose in the privacy policy, in the section dedicated to the Matomo opt-out.
5. Your rights
See the privacy policy for how to exercise your rights of access, rectification, and objection regarding the data collected via these trackers.
