This is a translation provided for information purposes. Only the French version (“Conditions générales de vente”) is legally binding.
1. Purpose and scope
These terms and conditions of sale apply to any room booking made directly with the Hôtel
Résidence l’Edelweiss (HOTEL RESIDENCE L’EDELWEISS, SARL, RCS Chambéry 076 920 099 — see
legal notice), whether via the website courchevel-edelweiss.com, the
Thaïs booking engine, by phone, or by email. They do not apply to bookings made through a
third-party platform (Booking.com, etc.), which are governed by that platform’s own terms.
2. Services and rates
Rooms are offered under different rate plans, whose nature and number may evolve over time. For each offer, the price, cancellation and change conditions, and payment terms are communicated to the customer before the booking is confirmed, then restated in the confirmation email.
Some rate plans may be non-refundable; others may allow cancellation subject to a fee, the amount of which is specified before booking. The customer is invited to carefully check the terms of the selected rate plan before confirming the booking.
Prices are shown in euros, all taxes included except for the tourist tax (see §4). They may vary depending on the booking date, the stay date, and the lead time between the two: the price shown at the time of booking is the contractual price.
Breakfast is included unless otherwise specified with the offer.
3. Booking and payment
Every booking must be confirmed by payment for the stay, under the terms of the selected rate plan (payment in full, or a partial deposit whose percentage is specified at the time of booking, followed by the balance charged automatically before arrival). An unpaid booking is held for 48 hours; after this period, without payment received, it may be cancelled.
4. Tourist tax
In addition to the room rate, a tourist tax is due per night and per adult, at the rate set by the local authority and in effect at the time of the stay, which is indicated to the customer beforehand. Depending on the rate plan booked, it may be charged at the time of booking or paid directly at the hotel.
5. Changes and cancellation
Change and cancellation terms depend on the selected rate plan and are restated to the customer at the time of booking and again in the confirmation email. No change to the terms of an already confirmed booking is possible beyond what is provided for by the selected rate plan.
6. No right of withdrawal
In accordance with Article L221-28, 12° of the French Consumer Code, accommodation services provided on a specified date are not subject to a right of withdrawal. The customer therefore has no withdrawal period after a booking is confirmed; only the cancellation terms specific to the selected rate plan apply (§5).
7. Optional cancellation insurance (SafeBooking)
An optional cancellation insurance product, SafeBooking, may be offered in addition to the booking. It is distributed by Gritchen Affinity (insurance broker registered with ORIAS under n°11061317) on behalf of the insurer AREAS DOMMAGES. This insurance is subject to a separate contract between the customer and the insurer: the Hôtel Résidence l’Edelweiss is not involved in its operation, terms, or claims decisions.
8. Arrival and departure
Check-in from 4:00 PM, check-out by 11:00 AM. Luggage storage is available for early arrivals or late departures.
9. Liability
The hotel cannot be held liable for non-performance of the contract in the event of force majeure, within the meaning of Article 1218 of the French Civil Code.
10. Telephone canvassing
The customer may register free of charge on the Bloctel telephone canvassing opt-out list
(conso.bloctel.fr), even though the hotel does not carry out telephone canvassing.
11. Personal data
Data collected during booking is processed in accordance with the privacy policy.
12. Complaints and consumer mediation
Any complaint may be sent to booking@courchevel-edelweiss.com. If unresolved within 60 days, or in the event of a negative response, the customer may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator competent for the tourism and accommodation sector:
Médiation Tourisme et Voyage (MTV) Online form: https://formulaire.mtv.travel (the mediator may only be seized after a prior written complaint to the hotel, left unanswered for 60 days or answered negatively, and within one year of that complaint)
The customer may also use the European online dispute resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions of sale are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the consumer may bring proceedings before either a court with territorial jurisdiction under the French Code of Civil Procedure, or the court of the place where they resided at the time the contract was concluded.
